Claire White has been at Wheelock since 1994, teaching and supervising both undergraduate and graduate students. She currently coordinates the undergraduate Child Life program and has taught a variety of courses primarily in child life with additional assignments in the departments of Human Development and Child Life and Family Studies.
White is an academic advisor and also supervises undergraduate and graduate students in their child life internships. Since 1999, she has coordinated The Hospitalized Child in England summer course. Prior to Wheelock, Claire had more than 20 years of professional experience working in child life and early intervention.
She has held leadership positions within the professional organization the Child Life Council. Her most recent publications and presentations are about the history of the child life profession and humor and child development.
White was the recipient of Wheelock's Cynthia Longfellow Award for teaching in 2003.
