Debbie Samuels-Peretz is Assistant Professor in the Elementary Education Department of the School of Education and Child Life. She has extensive K-12 teaching experience in ESL and educational technology and has taught in both Israel and the US. Dr. Samuels-Peretz has also worked in multimedia ESL materials development and co-authored a textbook for English language learners. As an instructional coach she has many years experience leading professional development workshops and supporting teachers of students in schools with great sociocultural diversity.
Dr. Samuels-Peretz's research interests include the development of students' personal epistemologies, culturally responsive pedagogy, and the role of 21st century technology in student learning and development. She is currently conducting research on grassroots peace building efforts among Israelis and Palestinians.
