Kathy McDonough is an instructor and field supervisor in the Special Education program. She primarily teachers courses related to literacy, curriculum design, and teacher identity and the sociopolitical context of schools. Prior to joining Wheelock, she was a classroom teacher, a literacy specialist, and taught in Lesley University's national programs.
Currently, she is completing a doctorate at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the school of education's language, literacy and culture program. There her work primarily focuses on the political consciousness of teachers.
