Castagna Lacet joined Wheelock College in fall 2007 and is an assistant professor in the Masters of Social Work program. She received her bachelor's degree from Wellesley College, where she was mentored by researchers at the Jean Baker Miller Institute's Center for Research on Women. Castagna received her Masters in Social Work from Boston College where she recently defended her dissertation, and attained her PhD in Social Work.
Her community-based practice has included clinical and administrative work with at risk youth and families in the greater Boston area. She is a managing partner in the consulting group Synergy and Solutions, LLC, helping schools, agencies, and community coalitions collaborate to better serve and empower families and workers. Her interests include multi-systems interventions, interpersonal and community violence, and international service learning.
