Carolyn Kurker Gallagher has been teaching and supervising child life students at Wheelock since 1997. At the undergraduate level, she teaches Introduction to Child Life, Integrative Seminar in Child Life and Alternative Applications of Child Life. She has also co-taught The Child and Family in Health Care at the graduate level.
Gallagher has a rich background as a clinician that she brings to her teaching. She has worked in child life at many area hospitals, such as Boston Medical Center, Newton Wellesley Hospital, MA, Eye and Ear Infirmary, and Emerson Hospital.
She is a member of the board of the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation of New England. Her other interests include pain management, family-centered care, advocacy for optimal pediatric care, alternative applications for Child Life programming, and clinical and academic collaboration in the Child Life profession.
