What is the Boston Family Engagement Partnership?

The Wheelock College Aspire Institute seeks to understand and significantly advance family-school engagement across a diverse landscape of Boston schools. Specifically, the Aspire Institute
will partner with 11 public, charter and parochial schools to pilot the Boston Family Engagement Partnership (BFEP) over the next three years.
How does the Boston Family Engagement Partnership achieve its mission?
Data Driven Planning and Action: Partnership schools will use traditional surveys and Participatory Action Research to collect a range of data from schools and families to guide the development and assess the efficacy of family engagement strategies.
Family Engagement Fellowship: Partner schools will identify one representative to engage in a year-long, graduate level fellowship to train a 'next generation' of family engagement professionals and leaders in schools. $5000 stipend per year.
Learning modules for families: The Partnership will use emerging online learning and smartphone technology as well as face-to-face workshops to develop learning modules that share key knowledge and strategies with families.
