Welcome undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni to the Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) at Wheelock College. Our mission is to empower you to make informed career decisions by helping you explore co-curricular, educational, and professional opportunities consistent with your interests, abilities, and values.
What We Do
The Center provides a wealth of services and resources to assist with career exploration. Through assessment and individual career counseling, students can determine how their interests, abilities, and values best match a particular profession. The Center also provides resume building and critique services, cover letter reviews, and interview preparation—all designed to help students and alumni present themselves professionally to potential employers both in person and in writing. The Center sponsors two Annual Spring Career Fairs, at which students can make personal connections with more than 30 employers. Students can also use the Center to gain vital information about graduate school decision making, strategies to secure employment, and career goals.
Our staff continually reaches out to undergraduate and graduate students through in-class presentations in collaboration with Wheelock faculty members from a variety of departments across campus, as well as a monthly e-Newsletter to all students. In addition, our new "CCPD On The Move" initiative brings career development training sessions right into the residence halls. In the 2010-2011 academic year alone, the Center served over 500 students through our various outreach efforts.
