Suzanne H. Pasch joined Wheelock College as Vice President for Academic Affairs in July, 2005 after a career as professor, dean, and vice-provost at two other institutions, most recently The College of New Jersey and previously the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. An educational psychologist who received her Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Dr. Pasch’s primary research interests are the application of principles of learning and development to teacher education across the continuum of practice and school reform. She has particular expertise in urban and global education, and develops programs and partnerships to enhance the preparation and efficacy of professionals who work directly with children in communities, health care organizations, and schools throughout the world.
Her recent work with Operation Respect, an organization founded by Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul, and Mary, brings together many threads of Dr. Pasch’s professional work and reflects her deep commitment to enhancing environments and opportunities for children. Operation Respect is dedicated to the reduction of bullying and violence through its Don’t Laugh at Me program and, more generally, to the development of the whole child through the integration of social, emotional and cognitive learning. Dr. Pasch’s work with Operation Respect includes membership on the Board of Directors and service as the director of global implementation efforts.
Dr. Pasch co-authored a book, The Life Cycle of the Career Teacher, published by Corwin Press. She is cited in Who's Who, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in Child Development, Who's Who of American Women, and Who's Who of Women. Her leadership has led to awards for exemplary practice at her previous institutions.
