Marta Rosa oversees Wheelock's efforts related to the external community, public relations, and government affairs. She was formerly the college's Senior Director, Office of Government Relations and Civic Engagement, where she engaged public officials, community leaders, and decision makers on issues of interest to the college and its mission to improve the lives of children and families.

Currently, Marta develops venues that position Wheelock as a desired partner, convener, facilitator, and policy discussion leader. She has created programs that offer leadership opportunities in policy-development and best practices, and has organized local, state, and national forums for interactive discussion and action with a focus on innovation and engagement. Some of these efforts include The President's Community Dialogues, Student Policy Fellows Program, Winter Policy Talks, Massachusetts Annual Community Dialogue on Early Education and Care, Aspire Institute, Family Child Care Summit, and the Math and Science Education Initiative.
Marta applies her expertise in strategic planning, management, organizational development, constituency building, diversity, and capacity building in developing grass-roots, community-based organizations focused on education, economic development, and social justice issues.

She has held numerous leadership positions in education, government, and human services, including: first Latina elected in 1989 in Chelsea, MA, serving in School Committee, City Council, and Planning Board; Past-President, National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA) D.C. and the Parent Services Project (PSP), CA. She holds a master's degree from Cambridge College.
