Violence Transformed

Violence TransformedViolence Transformed is an annual series of visual and performing arts events offered through a unique collaboration among artists, activists, museum professionals, academics, and community service providers. The organizing group is diverse in background but all share a belief in the power of art, artists, and art-making to confront, challenge, and mediate the prevalence of violence in society and to provide impetus for community and societal transformation.

Ubuntu Arts2013 will be the 7th year for Violence Transformed and each year Wheelock faculty, Ann Tobey, has served as an organizer and curator.

Violence Transformed 2013 will include a two-week-long exhibit in April at Doric Hall in the Massachusetts State House and a number of satellite exhibits and performances at multiple venues throughout the greater Boston area, including the Ubuntu Arts exhibit in April at Wheelock's Towne Art Gallery.
