Archived Page for Wheelock's Second Annual Conference Inspired by the Hawkins Education Philosophy

When: Saturday, October 1, 2016, 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Wheelock College's second annual conference of hands-on experiences, inspired by the education philosophy of David and Frances Hawkins, offered enriching professional development to educators from schools at all age levels, museums, and family child care providers.

The 2016 conference provided an opportunity to practice many ways to nurture curiosity and wonder in ourselves and our students. It featured over a dozen stations where attendees were able to experiment with provocations and recycled materials and informally engage with Wheelock faculty from science, math, art, and education as well as colleagues from deCordova Museum, the Beautiful Stuff Project, City Sprouts, Maker Space, and the Hawkins Learning study group.
