Massachusetts Test for Educator Licensure
According to Massachusetts law and regulations, to be licensed to teach in public schools in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, candidates must complete a state-approved program of study and pass the appropriate section(s) of the Massachusetts Test for Educator Licensure (MTEL). These sections include, but are not limited to, passage of the Communication and Literacy Skills test, as well as subject knowledge test(s) for the licensure area(s) chosen by the candidate.
Wheelock College offers various resources and preparation sessions designed to assist students and alumni as they prepare to take the test.
